OUR SHARED BELIEFS AND VALUES

Our Mission: To grow in relationship with God, share the love of the Spirit, and build servant leaders like Christ.

Our Vision: We are a community of faith, seeking to live out our understanding of God's purpose for our lives.

TAYLORSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH SHARES THE FOLLOWING BELIEFS:

HAVE QUESTIONS?

We are a community of faith, believing we all fall short of perfection and yet are all children of God. We come together to experience God through worship and one another.

We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord. He teaches us how to live an abundant life, full of joy in service and in fellowship with God. We strive to put the risen Christ at the center of everything we do.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. We believe in the authority of Scripture. We believe the Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, is central to the life of the individual and the church. It teaches us how to live, serve and become disciples of God. Through prayer and personal Bible study, we affirm the freedom of every Christian to interpret and apply scripture under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

We believe Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are symbolic celebrations of grace. Believer’s Baptism celebrates new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper celebrates Christ’s sacrifice for us on the Cross.

We affirm the gifts of all believers. As each person brings diversity and gifts to our world, we can benefit from sharing our God-given abilities with each other. We affirm the participation of women and men in all aspects of church leadership and Christian ministry. Each having value and purpose, we are united as the body of Christ.

We affirm Baptist congregational governance. We believe in the autonomy of every local church; free, under the Lordship of Christ, to determine membership and leadership, to order worship and work, to ordain both men and women demonstrating gifts for ministry, and to participate as deemed appropriate in the larger body of Christ.
